Organizing a camp for (super)heroes is no small feat, but someone needs to do it. It will be a gathering of heroes, sharing their heroic acts and pitching their desire to collaborate with other heroes on future heroic acts. Heroic acts include, but are not limited to, creating stuff that changes the world, empowers the disempowered, creates world peace, saves the planet, makes people happy, and makes a real difference in your local community.
We plan to launch a project at the end of the 4-5 day schedule of intensive brainstorming and planning. The ideas launched will have to be simply executable by a wider network of (Super)Heroes that couldn't be there to plan it. For the first 2 days, we brainstorm, dream, map out and scribble. For the last 2-3 days, we create materials, plans and websites so that we can launch a beta soon afterwards.
The BIG Idea We've picked Education as the over-arching issue to look at this year. (every year the big idea will change)
Schedule
Day 1: Intros and brainstorming
Introductions, presentation of everyone's ideas, whiteboarding, setting goals, boiling things down to a really great basic planning. Evening: BBQ and Beer
Day 2: Fleshing out the ideas
More whiteboarding, brainstorming and figuring out exactly what we are doing. Nailing down 'the plan'. Evening: Tacos and Tequila
Day 3: Getting down to brass tacks
Execution, building a website, designing a brochure, making the message and the program clear enough for anyone to pick it up and run with it. Evening: Fancier dinner somewhere that we can dress up for
Day 4: Spit and Polish
Finishing up on Day 3's execution, making certain we've covered most angles, setting out a promotional plan, etc. Evening: Collapse in elation
Who? There are many (super)heroes out there. You should come.
